Configure bellsouth.net Email into Thunderbird
- Open Mozilla Thunderbird.
- Click the Application menu button or Tools.
- Account Settings will appear.
- Click Account Actions at the bottom of the left window.
- Select the Add Mail Account option.
- Continue after entering your email account information.
- Your Full Name: In emails, how do you want your name to appear?
- Email Address/Username: complete email address
- Password: Password for your email

- Outgoing Authentication for POP: We recommend Normal password
- Outgoing SSL is up to you. Change the Outgoing Port to 465 if you pick SSL/TLS Outgoing Port: 587
- SMTP.mydomain.com is the outgoing server’s hostname.
- Normal password is recommended for incoming authentication.
- Incoming SSL is your choice. Change the Incoming Port to 995 if you use SSL/TLS.
- Port of Entry: 110
- pop.mydomain.com is the incoming server’s hostname.
- POP (Incoming Type)
- Your mailbox password is your password.
- Email Address/Username: complete email address

- imap.mydomain.com is the incoming server’s hostname.

- SMTP.mydomain.com is the outgoing server’s hostname.
- Outgoing Port: 587
- Outgoing SSL is up to you. If you pick SSL/TLS, make sure the outgoing server and port are configured correctly.
- We recommend using a normal password for outgoing authentication.
- Then select Create Account.
- Allow the mail client to complete the email settings verification.
Setup bellsouth on windows 10/11
- Open Outlook
- Select File > Add Account from the menu bar.
- Click Next after selecting Manually configure server settings or other server types.
- On the next window, select Yes.
- Fill in your name and Bellsouth.net email address.
- Select IMAP and POP. Select Next.
- Enter imap.mail.att.net as the Incoming Mail Server.
- Enter smtp.mail.att.net as the Outgoing Mail Server.
- When asked, enter your email address and password.
- Check both My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use similar settings as my incoming mail server boxes under More configurations.
- Make sure the Incoming Server port number for POP3 is 995 in the Advanced tab.
- The port for the outgoing server should be 465.
- Under the section Use the following type of encrypted connection, enable SSL.
- Select Finish.
