Configure bellsouth.net Email into Thunderbird

  1. Open Mozilla Thunderbird.
  • Click the Application menu button or Tools.
  • Account Settings will appear.
  • Click Account Actions at the bottom of the left window.
  • Select the Add Mail Account option.
  • Continue after entering your email account information.
  • Your Full Name: In emails, how do you want your name to appear?
  • Email Address/Username: complete email address

Setup bellsouth on windows 10/11

  1. Open Outlook
  • Select File > Add Account from the menu bar.
  • Click Next after selecting Manually configure server settings or other server types.
  • On the next window, select Yes.
  • Fill in your name and Bellsouth.net email address.
  • Select IMAP and POP. Select Next.
  • Enter imap.mail.att.net as the Incoming Mail Server.
  • Enter smtp.mail.att.net as the Outgoing Mail Server.
  • When asked, enter your email address and password.
  1. Check both My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use similar settings as my incoming mail server boxes under More configurations.
  1. Make sure the Incoming Server port number for POP3 is 995 in the Advanced tab.
  1. The port for the outgoing server should be 465.
  1. Under the section Use the following type of encrypted connection, enable SSL.
